Crystal Sands Sales Improve in 2017

The Destin real estate market continued to improve this in 2017. Destin Gulf front condos average sales prices increased 11% and price per square foot increased 5%.

There were 5 more units sold at Crystal Sands in 2017 than in 2016. Units had a 5% increase in average price and sold for 97% of list price on average. Crystal Sands units sold for $100 more per sq ft than the Destin average.

THE ABBOTTS AND CRYSTAL SANDS

Nathan and Amanda Abbott’s father and uncle, Steve and Bill Abbott, were the original sales team for Crystal Sands. In 1995, the real estate market was hot and unit 106B was the last unit available during pre-construction sales. Steve Abbott scooped it up and it is now part of the Abbott family trust.

Overall, our local real estate market continued to increase in sales and prices during 2017. Blue Gulf Resort properties had an 18% increase in average sales price, 12% increase in price per sq ft and were on the market 32 days less than in 2016.

The Okaloosa Island real estate market continued to improve in 2017 with 16% more sales than in 2016. Units sold had a 2%  increase in sales price and 5% increase in price per sq ft.

Sales activity nearly doubled at Island Princess in 2017. Average price and price per sq ft declined compared to 2016. Unit 409 was listed by the Nathan Abbott Team and sold at $325 per sq ft, which is $36 more than the Okaloosa Island average.
