Project Description

With sugar white beaches, emerald green water, a beach boardwalk, a pier and a variety of family entertainment, it’s no wonder Okaloosa Island is a popular vacation spot along Florida’s Emerald coast. This quiet stretch of beach, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway, provides unlimited options for sunbathing, swimming, sailing, kayaking and parasailing.

Okaloosa Island is a Gulf front Barrier Island connected to Fort Walton Beach and Destin, Florida by bridges at each end of the island on US Highway 98. On the west end of Okaloosa Island, close to Fort Walton Beach, there are condos, resorts, restaurants and beach parks. Okaloosa Island provides a quaint feel since the condominium complexes are only seven stories or less, which means there are typically less people on the beach compared to higher-density areas with high rise towers.

Okaloosa Island provides a great selection of Gulf and Bay front State Parks allowing you to enjoy the beautiful coastal lifestyle. Parks include Marler Park, John Beasley Park, and the Gulf Island National Seashore.

There are great entertainment venues surrounding Okaloosa Island including the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park,The Boardwalk and Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier, beach shops, restaurants and nightlife.

Some of The Nathan Abbott Team’s favorite Okaloosa Island restaurants include Old Bay Steamer, Pranzo’s, Pandora’s Steak House, and Helen Back.

Okaloosa Island shopping consists mostly of beach shops, but only minutes away are Santa Rosa Mall, Uptown Station, and a collection of shops and restaurants on Miracle Strip Parkway just over the bridge in Fort Walton Beach.
